Common use of Accumulation and Payment of Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Accumulation and Payment of Sick Leave. An employee is permitted to accumulate sick leave up to a maximum of eighteen (18) days at any one time. An employee shall be able to carry forward unused sick days into the subsequent calendar year to a maximum of thirty-six (36) days. a) If employment is terminated, for whatever reason, and an Employee has taken more sick leave than has been earned, such overpayment will be recovered from any monies owing to the Employee. b) The Employer does not pay employees for accumulated and unused sick leave credits when their employment ends, for whatever reason and sick leave credits have no cash value.
