Advanced Metering Systems. A system that collects time-differentiated energy usage data from advanced meters via a network system on either an on-request or defined schedule basis. The system shall have the capability to read real and lapsed time power usage, trend data (KW usage), cost reporting (KWH readings) data, and power factor. This collected information will support energy use management, procurement, and operations, U.S. Department of Energy, EERE: Guidance for Electric Metering in Federal Buildings, (February 3, 2006).
Advanced Metering Systems. 1.1. Withdrawing Request for Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity and Cost Recovery for Advanced Metering Systems. The Utilities agree to withdraw their requests for the Commission to grant certificates of public convenience and necessity (“CPCNs”) and to approve cost recovery in these base rate proceedings for the Utilities’ proposed full deployment of Advanced Metering Systems (“AMS”). The Parties agree that the Utilities’ withdrawal of their requests for CPCNs and cost recovery for AMS in these proceedings does not preclude the Utilities from having full AMS deployment considered in future proceedings.

Interconnection Service does not necessarily provide the Interconnection Customer with the capability to physically deliver the output of its Large Generating Facility to any particular load on the CAISO Controlled Grid without incurring congestion costs. In the event of transmission constraints on the CAISO Controlled Grid, the Interconnection Customer's Large Generating Facility shall be subject to the applicable congestion management procedures in the CAISO Tariff in the same manner as all other resources.
