An employee elected or Sample Clauses

An employee elected or appointed to fill a full-time position in the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators, or any successor organization, may be granted a leave of absence, with pay. Such leaves will not be unreasonably withheld. The employee will remain on the payroll of the College without loss of salary, benefits, or seniority, and shall return to a comparable position at the end of her/his leave. FPSE shall reimburse the College for the cost of replacing the employee.

  • An Employee (other than a casual employee) required to attend for jury service during ordinary working hours will be reimbursed by the Company an amount equal to the difference between the amount paid in respect of the employee’s attendance for such jury service and the amount of wage the employee would have received in respect of the ordinary time the employee would have worked had the employee not been on jury service.

  • Leave When Employment Terminates 31.7.1 Except as provided in sub-clause 31.7.3, when the employment of an employee is terminated for any reason, the employee or his estate shall, in lieu of earned but unused vacation leave, be paid an amount equal to the product obtained by multiplying the number of days of earned but unused vacation leave by the daily rate of pay applicable to the employee immediately prior to the termination of his employment.

  • Regular Employee Seniority for a regular employee is defined as the length of the employee’s continuous employment (whether full-time or part-time) from the date of commencement of regular employment, plus any seniority accrued, while working as a casual employee of the Employer.

  • Casual Employee Casual employee means a part-time employee who is not normally scheduled to work but who may be called in to work to provide coverage as required.

  • Deceased Employees The employer may approve a cash payment equivalent to the two lots of two weeks' salary to the widow, widower or if no surviving spouse exists, to dependent child(ren) or to the estate, of a deceased employee who had qualified for long service leave but who had neither taken nor forfeited it under these rules. This payment will be in addition to any grant made under the Retirement Gratuity Provisions specified in this Agreement.

  • Employee Eligibility For purposes of this section, “eligible employee” shall be defined by the Public Employees’ Medical and Hospital Care Act.

  • Group Benefit Plan Continuation While a Nurse is on pregnancy/birth or parental, or adoption leave, the Employer shall permit the Nurse to continue participation in eligible benefit plans. The Nurse shall be responsible to pay both the Employer and the Nurse’s shares of the premium costs for maintaining such coverage for which the Nurse is eligible during the period of leave.

  • Holiday Pay for Employees Laid Off An employee who is laid off at the close of business the day before a holiday who has worked not less than five (5) previous consecutive work days shall be paid for the holiday.

  • Exempt Employee An exempt employee is one who is not eligible for overtime. Exempt employees are in classifications in Appendix A shown as Code 3.

  • Active/Inactive Employee If you are covered under another plan as an active employee, your benefits and those of your dependents under that plan will be determined before benefits under this plan. The plan covering the active employee and dependents will be the primary plan. The plan covering that same employee as inactive (including those who are retired or have been laid off) will be the secondary plan for that employee and dependents.
