ANNUAL DAY OF MOURNING. The Company and the Union recognize the importance of employee awareness in the promotion of health and safety. To that end, it is agreed that on April 28th in each year of the Agreement, a minute of silence will be observed at 10:00 a.m. The purpose of the observance will be to remember workers who have died or have been injured in the workplace, and to reflect on the importance of safe practices and the promotion of health.

  • Day of Mourning Each year on April 28 at 11:00 am, one minute of silence shall be observed in memory of workers killed or injured on the job.

  • National Day of Mourning Each year on April 28 at 11:00 a.m., one minute of silence will be observed in memory of workers killed or injured on the job.

  • Holiday Coinciding with a Day of Vacation Where an employee is on vacation leave and a day of paid holiday falls within that period, the paid holiday shall not count as a day of vacation.

  • Christmas or New Year's Day Off The Employer agrees to make every reasonable effort to ensure that employees required to work shift shall have at least Christmas Day or the following New Year's Day off.

  • Holiday Falling on a Scheduled Workday An employee who works on a designated holiday which is a scheduled workday shall be compensated at the rate of double-time for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday; except for Christmas and New Year's when the compensation shall be at the rate of double-time and one-half for hours worked, plus a day off in lieu of the holiday.

  • DURATION OF SCHOOL DAY AND YEAR 33C) The duration of the school day and year will be the responsibility of the Academy Trust.

  • Rostered Day Off 3.5.1 Any employee who by the circumstances of the arrangement of their ordinary hours of work is entitled to a rostered day off which falls on a public holiday prescribed by this clause shall, by mutual agreement, be paid for that day seven hours thirty six minutes at ordinary rates or have an additional day added to his/her annual leave, or shall be allowed to take the day off on an alternative weekday.   • Working Day Working Day means a day other than a Saturday, Sunday, or a holiday which is observed by the construction industry in the area of the Place of the Work.

  • Month A period commencing at 10:00 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, on the first Day of a calendar month and extending until 10:00 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, on the first Day of the next succeeding calendar month. Monthly shall have the correlative meaning.

  • Compensation for Holidays Falling on Scheduled Days Off 1. When a holiday falls on a full-time employee's regularly scheduled day off, the employee shall receive eight (8) hours of compensatory time.
