Common use of Annual Leave and Sick Leave for Clause in Contracts

Annual Leave and Sick Leave for. On Call employees are subject to the following conditions: (a) On Call employees shall accumulate annual leave on a pro rata basis. Leave may not be taken until the employee has worked one thousand forty (1,040) hours. (b) On Call employees who have completed five months of service by November 1 may bid for vacations by date of hire seniority for the following year, subject to the following restrictions: On Call employees may not bid for vacation during the summer season due to service contingency requirements. Outside of the summer season, a maximum of four (4) On Call employees may take vacation at any one time. The bidding process for On Call employees is separate from that of permanent unlicensed personnel assigned to A-Week or B-Week. (c) An On Call employee assigned to a permanent position and subsequently bumped to the On Call list shall be granted any awarded vacation periods. (d) On Call employees may request vacation or use of compensatory time outside of the vacation bidding process as follows: Employees must submit a written request to the employer at least two (2) weeks in advance indicating the number of vacation days requested. Such written requests, approved by the Employer, shall be solely on a first come first served basis and seniority shall not be a consideration. All such requests shall be subject to employer approval and may be denied to meet service needs. Any denial by the employer must be made in writing within ten (10) business days.
