ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. Each employee will be paid one (1) day's pay at normal rate of pay for the following holidays, with exception of those employees who are on Long Term Disability who will receive one-third a days' pay. New Year's Day Good Friday Victoria Day Canada Day Civic Holiday Labour Day Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day Boxing Day and the day immediately prior to Christmas Day and New Year's Day and Friday of Employer's Mid-Year Recess, provided the employee has seniority at the date of such holiday and such employee has worked last scheduled working day before the holiday and the next scheduled working day after such holiday. It is further agreed that Easter Sunday will be regarded as a holiday for those persons whose regular or normal schedule includes Easter Sunday. In the event that the mid-year recess one week (5 days) is eliminated or reduced, then the day following New Year's Day will replace the Friday of the Employer's mid-year recess. With the exception of Easter Sunday, holiday pay will be paid to those employees who are excused from work on account of illness and who are within the first days of such illness or who are on approved leave of absence with pay at the time of occurrence of a holiday as herein defined. Holiday pay shall not apply to those on lay-off or on approved Leaves of Absence without pay. Employees who work on any of the holidays referred to in paragraph hereof, shall be paid at two (2) times their regular straight time rate plus their holiday pay mentioned above. In the event that any of the holidays named above fall during an employee's vacation period, the employee shall receive the said holiday pay prescribed in hereof in addition to vacation pay entitlement. If the holiday falls within the employee's vacation period, may elect to receive an additional day's paid vacation in lieu of the additional pay for the holiday, in which event the additional day's vacation shall be a day designated by the Employer, which day shall be at the commencement or at the end of the employee's vacation. The employees shall be paid for each Statutory Holiday during the pay period in which the holiday occurs, or in the pay period for which it is proclaimed to be observed. If a Statutory Holiday occurs in any week prior to completion of an employee's scheduled work week, such day shall be considered as a day worked for the purposes of computing the employee's entitlement for overtime pay as hereinafter provided. It is agreed that in the case of employees who work on a seven-day schedule only, if a Statutory Holiday falls on any day of any week and further, if such holiday falls on such employees' regularly scheduled days off, such employees shall be required to observe such holiday on their next regularly scheduled working day following said holiday. Such day off shall be treated as a Statutory Holiday as in clause hereof.

ARTICLE HOLIDAYS. Each Subject to the other provisions this Article, the following general holidays shall apply: New Year’s Day Good Friday ⚫ Victoria Day ⚫ Canada Day Labour Day ⚫ Thanksgiving Day ⚫ Remembrance Day Christmas Day Boxing Day ⚫ Civic holiday (the first Monday in August) Employees shall be compensated at their respective regular hourly rates for the time which they To qualify for compensation under Articles and the employee prior to the actual holiday must: have completed thirty calendar days’ service with the employer; have worked the last scheduled working day before and the first scheduled working day following the holiday, unless the absence is excused by the employer; be on the active payroll and not on leave of absence, disability leave, any other leave, suspension of employment, or lay-off the day on which the holiday is observed; not have agreed to work on the holiday or without cause satisfactory have failed to report for and perform the work; have worked at least fifteen of the preceding thirty calendar days. If a part-time employee who would qualify for holiday pay is unable to establish entitlement to holiday pay because the employee is unable to establish entitlement to wages, in accordance with above, the employee shall be paid as holiday pay of the wages the employee has earned during the thirty calendar days immediately preceding the general holiday. In the event of any holiday, as defined in Article above, occurring at any time an employee’s vacation period, an additional one day holiday with pay will be paid allowed at some other time agreed upon between the employee and the employee’s immediate supervisor. Employees who are required to work on a day on which they are entitled to a holiday with pay, in accordance with Article above, shall be paid, in addition to the regular rate of pay for that day, a rate of one (1) day's pay at normal and one-half times the regular rate of pay for the following holidaystime worked on that day. Under no circumstances will there be pyramiding or compounding of premiums or benefits of any kind in any way.
