Assistant City Attorney. If an employee does not receive a satisfactory answer or resolution as a result of the First Step of this procedure, the employee or the DCAA will reduce the grievance to writing and present the grievance to the Assistant City Attorney or his or her designee within fourteen (14) calendar days after receiving the explanation from the Chief Deputy referred to in the First Step of this procedure. After receiving the written grievance, the Assistant City Attorney or his or her designee will promptly schedule a meeting to provide the employee and/or the Union with an opportunity to present the problem personally. Within fourteen (14) calendar days after that meeting or such longer period as is required under the circumstances to properly investigate and/or consider the matter, the Assistant City Attorney or his or her designee will provide the employee with a verbal or written response to the grievance.
