At the time of hiring the School Division may, at its sole discretion, place a vocational teacher at one or more steps higher than the teacher’s placement on the Years of Teaching Experience grid and/or one or more steps higher than the teacher’s placement on the Years of Teaching Education grid. If the teacher subsequently transfers to a non-vocational teaching position the School Division will not reduce the teacher’s placement on the grid.
