Part-Time Nurse definition

Part-Time Nurse is a nurse who is regularly scheduled to work at least twenty 20 hours but less than thirty-two (32) hours per week.
Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse hired to a position to work on a regular or temporary basis that is less than the work period of a Full-Time Nurse.

Part-Time Nurse is used in this Agreement it shall mean a Nurse scheduled for and working 40 to 63 hours per pay period consistently throughout the course of the year. Part Time Nurses are eligible for fringe benefits under this Agreement only to the extent expressly provided for in this Agreement and subject to the Nurse satisfying all of the qualifications therefore.

If a part-time nurse 9 averages sixty-five (65) hours or more per pay period for more than six (6) months, the 10 position will be reassessed to determine if the need has changed. If, as a result of this 11 reassessment, the Hospital determines that the need has changed, the part-time nurse 12 who has been working the additional hours shall be offered the opportunity to reclassify 13 to full-time status prior to posting a full-time or part-time position. If a part-time nurse’s 14 average scheduled hours (measured on a rolling six-month basis) drop by thirty percent 15 (30%) or more for a period of three (3) months, the nurse may appeal such drop in 16 hours. Any such appeal is to be raised, in writing, with human resources. Human 17 resources and the Vice President of Patient Care will review the hours reduction and 18 determine if there was an internal adjustment that has caused the reduction in hours. If 19 it is determined that an internal adjustment caused the reduction in hours, then human 20 resources and the Vice President of Patient Care will conduct a further review to 21 determine 1) if there is a means by which some scheduled hours can be reinstated to 22 the nurse, or 2) some other adjustment needs to be made, consistent with this 23 Agreement. 24
Part-Time Nurse is a Nurse hired to a position to work on a regular or temporary basis that is less than the work period of a Full-Time Nurse. Part-Time Nurses shall be responsible to fulfil the requirements of the posted schedule up to the number of shifts per week agreed to at the time she becomes Part-Time. A Part-Time Nurse may indicate her availability to work shifts in addition to those she is scheduled to work and she will receive those shifts for which she is available before the Employer assigns same to Casual Nurses, provided that the total hours of her scheduled shifts and casual shift(s) does not exceed eighty (80) in any two-week period.
