Common use of Attendance at Meetings Clause in Contracts

Attendance at Meetings. Employees designated as shop stewards or official representatives of PDOCC shall be allowed to attend meetings held by County agencies during regular working hours on County time as follows: a. If their attendance is required by the County at a specific meeting, including meetings of the Board of Supervisors; b. if their attendance is sought by a hearing body or presentation of testimony or other reasons; c. if their attendance is required for a meeting necessary for settlement of grievances filed pursuant to Section 15 - Grievance Procedure of this MOU and scheduled at reasonable times agreeable to all parties; d. if they are designated as a shop xxxxxxx, in which case they may utilize a reasonable time at each level of the proceedings to assist an employee to present a grievance provided the meetings are scheduled at reasonable times agreeable to all parties; e. if they are designated as spokesperson or representative of PDOCC and as such make representations or presentations at meetings or hearings on wages, salaries and working conditions; provided in each case advance arrangements for time away from the employee's work station or assignment are made with the appropriate department head, and the County agency calling the meeting is responsible for determining that the attendance of the particular employee(s) is required, including meetings of the Board of Supervisors and Retirement Board where items which are within the scope of representation and involving PDOCC are to be discussed.

C. if their attendance is required for a fora meeting necessary for settlement of grievances filed pursuant to Section 15 22 - Grievance Procedure of this MOU and scheduled at reasonable times agreeable to all parties; d. D. if they are designated as a shop xxxxxxx, in which case they may utilize a reasonable time at each level of the proceedings to assist an employee to present a grievance provided the meetings are scheduled at reasonable times agreeable to all parties; e. E. if they are designated as spokesperson or representative of PDOCC the Union and as such make representations or presentations at meetings or hearings on wages, salaries and working conditions; conditions provided in each case advance arrangements for time away from the employee's ’s work station or assignment are made with the appropriate department head, and the County agency calling the meeting is responsible for determining that the attendance of the particular employee(s) is required, including meetings of the Board of Supervisors and Retirement Board where items which are within the scope of representation and involving PDOCC are Fire Chief or his/her designee. F. to be discussedattend examination appeal board hearings to assist an employee in making a presentation.
