Authorized Legal Holidays. In addition to the official holidays listed below, employees shall receive any day proclaimed by the President or Governor as a public fast, thanksgiving or holiday, and shall be considered a holiday for pay purposes. The granting of any paid time-off due to an Executive Order closing federal offices that is signed by the President of the United States, shall be at the discretion of the City. Effective the first pay period of the fiscal year, employees shall receive twelve (12) hours of floating holiday that may be taken on any day throughout a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30) with prior approval from an employee’s supervisor. The twelve (12) hours of floating holiday shall not be carried forward to the next fiscal year or cashed out. For part-time employees, please refer to Article 6.4 regarding Pro-Rata Benefits.

  • Payment for Working on a Holiday (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) If an employee is required to work on any of the holidays set out in the local Appendix the employee shall be paid at the rate of time and one-half (1-1/2) her regular straight time hourly rate of pay for all hours worked on such holiday subject to Article 16.04. In addition, if the employee qualifies in accordance with Article 16.02 above the employee will receive a lieu day off with pay in the amount of the employee's regular straight time hourly rate of pay times the employee's normal daily hours of work.
