AWARDING AUTHORITY Sample Clauses

The 'Awarding Authority' clause defines the entity or organization responsible for granting a contract, license, or other formal award. In practice, this clause identifies who has the legal power to make decisions regarding the selection of contractors, the issuance of project approvals, or the allocation of resources. For example, in a public works contract, the awarding authority might be a government department or agency. The core function of this clause is to clearly establish which party holds the decision-making authority, thereby preventing confusion or disputes over who is empowered to act on behalf of the project or agreement.
