Background: Summary of program and purpose. The Department of Health Services (the Department) endeavors to meet the health care needs of certain low-income, uninsured Los Angeles residents who will remain uninsured after implementation of the federal Affordable Care Act’s individual health insurance mandate. These individuals are known as the residually uninsured. The Department’s mission is to ensure access to high-quality, patient-centered, cost-effective health care to Los Angeles County residents through direct services at the Department's facilities and through collaboration with its community partners. In order to fulfill this mission, the Department seeks to enhance its partnership with community clinic providers which share a commitment to serve the health care needs of Los Angeles County’s residually uninsured population in a way that encourages coordinated, whole-person care, similar to the services that have been provided to uninsured residents through the current Healthy Way LA (HWLA) Unmatched program. Consistent with this mission, the Department is re- designing the HWLA Unmatched program as the My Health LA (MHLA) program, and has identified long-term goals related to the delivery of services under the new access program. These goals include, but are not limited to:  Preserve Access to Care for Uninsured Patients. Ensure preservation of a health care safety net delivery system comprised of the Department and its community partners for the estimated 400,000 Los Angeles County residents who will not be eligible for any health care coverage programs under the Affordable Care Act.  Encourage coordinated, whole-person care: Encourage better health care coordination, continuity of care, and patient management within the primary care setting.

Improving the educational attainment of Kentucky citizens is key to ensuring the State’s long-term success. The State commits significant resources across the educational spectrum to develop and implement strategies to address this critical issue. Providing secondary students dual credit opportunities is a proven educational strategy with the capacity to complement and maximize the chances of success of our educational initiatives. Effective dual credit systems have impacts both at the secondary and postsecondary levels and provide the opportunity for collaboration. Participants are expected to know and follow current and future versions of Dual Credit Policies established by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education found at: xxxx://xxx.xx.xxx/policies/dualcredit.html. Should policies change during the academic year, KCTCS may request support in meeting those changes outside the scope of this document.

  • Description of Program This Agreement is established to facilitate an exchange program at the partner institution with students, faculty and researchers from each institution (collectively, the “Exchange Program”). The student exchange program enables students from one university to take classes at the other university while working towards a degree at the university where he or she is formally enrolled (individually, the “Student Exchange”) and to encourage faculty members and researchers from each university to visit the other university and engage in certain activities (individually, the “Faculty/Researcher Exchange”).
