Benefits Upon Rehire. An employee who is reemployed within ninety (90) days after the expiration of the leave of absence without right to return shall retain the following benefits: o Hire date. o Hire date for purposes of leave accruals and step advances; except that the employee will not receive service credit for the period of time the employee is on leave of absence without right to return. o Any sick leave accruals that had not been cashed out in accordance with the Retirement Medical Trust Fund Article will be restored. To be reemployed and retain the above benefits, the employee must be appointed to a position no later than ninety (90) calendar days after the date of expiration of leave of absence. The ninety (90) days shall run concurrently with the first ninety (90) days of the one hundred eighty (180) day period provided in the Article on Reemployment.
