Common use of Bereavement and Special Leave Clause in Contracts

It is the Authority’s policy to permit the employee to take time off with pay for a period of up to six (6) days where such time off is necessitated by death in the immediate family. This includes spouse, common-law spouse, child, stepchild or xxxx, mother, father, guardian, mother-in-law, father-in-law, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, uncle and grandparent.
