BEREAVEMENT BENEFITS. 8.1 An employee shall be excused from work without loss of pay for a maximum of three (3) working days in the event of the death of a member of his/her immediate family. Immediate family is defined as: mother, father, spouse, child (including legally adopted children or xxxxxx children), brother, sister, grandparents and grandchildren of the employee, and the parents of the employee’s current spouse.

BEREAVEMENT BENEFITS. Employees shall be paid for up to five (5) regularly scheduled work days for time lost due to deaths in their immediate families (parent, spouse, child, xxxxxxxxx, grandchild, brother, sister, grandmother, grandfather, or in-law (father, mother, brother, sister), significant personal relationship or household resident. An employee whose presence is required at a funeral may be excused without loss of pay for the time attending the funeral, subject to the approval of the Department Head.

If additional days are required, the Employee may elect to use accrued vacation. If the Employee has no accrued vacation in his bank, in the event of death of the Employee's spouse, committed or registered partner, child, mother or father, the Employee may use up to four (4) accrued sick days as additional leave. The use of accrued sick leave must be in compliance with Article 13C (first sick day compensation shall not be paid unless the Employee has 12 days or more of accrued sick pay to his credit). If the accrued sick days are utilized for this purpose, it shall not constitute a chargeable occurrence under the Attendance Policy.

BEREAVEMENT BENEFITS. 11.1 Employee(s) shall be excused from work without loss of pay for a maximum of three (3) consecutive work days to attend the funeral of a member of their immediate family if the funeral is in state. Employee(s) shall be excused from work without loss of pay for a maximum of five (5) consecutive work days to attend the funeral of a member of their immediate family if the funeral is out of state. Said days off must be taken in a period commencing with the day of death through the day following the funeral. The immediate family is defined as the employee’s mother, father, child (including step children, legally adopted children and xxxxxx children), brother, sister, spouse, and the mother, father, and siblings of current spouse, grandparents and grandchildren of employee, and grandparents of current spouse. Spouse is further defined to mean the person with whom the employee maintains a bona fide recognized relationship. Further consideration will be given for other individual bereavement leaves by the AFT Colorado president and or their appointed designee.

  • Vacation Benefits During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible for 20 vacation days annually, which shall be accrued and used in accordance with the applicable policies of the Company. During the Term, the Executive shall be eligible to participate in such medical, dental and life insurance, retirement and other plans as the Company may have or establish from time to time on terms and conditions applicable to other senior executives of the Company generally.   • Death Benefits Upon the Executive's death during the Contract Period, his estate shall not be entitled to any further benefits under this Agreement.
