Child/Children means persons who are of an age of two years and above but who are less than 12 years of age;
adopted child means a child under 16 years of age.
Children means all dependants named on a policy (not including spouse).
Child or Children means a child or children unmarried
Dependent children also means natural children, stepchildren, adopted children, children of a domestic partner, children placed for adoption and foster children.
Adopted , in relation to a child, means —
Eligible Children means named dependent children including adopted and step children of the Insured Person between Ages three (3) years and eighteen (18) years or upto twenty three (23) years if attending as a full time student with an accredited Institution of Higher Learning, who are unmarried, and receive the majority of maintenance and support from the Insured Person.
marriage means a marriage lawful where entered into, including a lawful same-sex marriage, regardless of whether the jurisdiction where the hospital is located, or in which the spouse lives, permits such marriages to occur or recognizes such marriages;
Descendant of an individual means all of the individual's descendants of all generations, with the relationship of parent and child at each generation being determined by the definition of child and parent contained in this section.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children means: • Protecting children from maltreatment• Preventing impairment of children’s mental or physical health or development• Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care• Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
Preschool child means a child who is three years old or older but is not a school child.
Lineal Descendant means a child, grandchild, great grandchild, etc., and shall include only lineal descendants by and through birth, or by legal adoption of an individual who has not attained age 18. The term shall also include individuals so born or adopted after the date of this Agreement.
Homeless children and youths means individuals who lack a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. This includes children and youth who are sharing the housing of other persons due to loss of housing, economic hardship or a similar reason, living in motels, parks or campgrounds; or children or youth who have a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for or ordinarily used as a sleeping accommodation by human beings; or children or youth living in cars, abandoned buildings or substandard housing or similar situations; or migratory children because they are living in circumstances like those described above. “Substandard housing” may be determined by considering factors such as whether the setting in which the child or youth is living lacks water, electricity or heat; is infested with vermin or mold; lacks a working kitchen or toilet, or presents unreasonable dangers to adults, children or persons with disabilities. Cities, counties and states have varying housing codes that further define housing deemed substandard by law.
Dependant child means a dependant person who is aged 0–17 years of age.
Family abuse means any act involving violence, force, or threat that results in bodily injury or
Siblings means brothers or sisters. They are defined as children with at least one natural or adoptive parent in common, living at the same or a different address. Children living permanently in the same household at the same address would also be counted as siblings, regardless of their actual relationship to each other. To qualify as a sibling a child must be on the roll of the school in question at the date of application, allocation and admission.
College official means any person employed by the college or District, performing assigned administrative or professional responsibilities pursuant to this Student Conduct Code. The college president shall designate the college or center official to be responsible for the administration of the Student Conduct Code.

Generally Applicable Law means the federal law of the United States of America, and the law of the State of New York (including in each case the rules or regulations promulgated thereunder or pursuant thereto), that a New York lawyer exercising customary professional diligence would reasonably be expected to recognize as being applicable to the Company, the Opinion Documents or the transactions governed by the Opinion Documents, and for purposes of assumption paragraphs (f) and (h) above and our opinion below, the General Corporation Law of the State of Delaware. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing definition of Generally Applicable Law, the term “Generally Applicable Law” does not include any law, rule or regulation that is applicable to the Company, the Opinion Documents or such transactions solely because such law, rule or regulation is part of a regulatory regime applicable to any party to any of the Opinion Documents or any of its affiliates due to the specific assets or business of such party or such affiliate.
Indian child means any unmarried person who is under age eighteen and is either (a) a member of an Indian tribe or (b) is eligible for membership in an Indian tribe and is the biological child of a member of an Indian tribe;
Marriage and family therapist means a marriage and family therapist licensed by the board to practice marriage and family therapy as defined in division (G) of section 4757.01 of the Revised Code.
