Common use of Birth or Funeral Leave Clause in Contracts

Birth or Funeral Leave. One day's leave per incident with pay will be granted to attend the birth of a child of the employee or the funeral of a relative other than those persons described in Section 6.3, such as grandparents, uncle, aunt, or cousin. Upon the prior approval of the Director of Business Services, or his designee, an employee may be excused a day or a portion thereof with pay to attend or take part in a funeral other than those persons described in the preceding sentence.

Birth or Funeral Leave. A leave will be granted consistent with applicable law for the birth or adoption of a child. One day's leave per incident with pay will be granted to attend the birth of a child of the employee or the funeral of a relative other than those persons described in Section 6.38.3, such as grandparents, uncle, aunt, or cousin. Upon the prior approval of the Director of Business Services, or his designee, an employee may be excused a day or a portion thereof with pay to attend or take part in a funeral other than those persons described in the preceding sentence.
