BOARD INTENT. The Board agrees that in any situation necessitating staff reductions, it is the intent of the Board to reduce staff (excluding positions designated as Teacher within Article 1) through attrition and through providing employees the opportunity to choose voluntary alternatives prior to proceeding to layoffs. The Board agrees that a reduction in FTE of at least 50%, excluding reductions in workweeks, will be deemed a layoff for purposes of this Article, provided that the FTE being reduced is not less than 38 workweeks.

  • Notice of Intent When the President or representative has reason to believe that a suspension or termination should be imposed, the President or representative shall provide the employee with a written notice of the proposed action and the reasons therefor. Such notice shall be sent certified mail, return receipt requested, or delivered in person with written documentation of receipt obtained. The employee shall be given ten (10) days in which to respond in writing to the President or representative before the proposed action is taken. The President or representative then may issue a notice of disciplinary action under Article 16.4.below. The employee has a right to union representation during investigatory questioning that may reasonably be expected to result in disciplinary action. If the President or representative does not issue a notice of disciplinary action, the notice of proposed disciplinary action shall not be retained in the employee's evaluation file.

  • Interpretation and Intent 3.1 The Contract Documents are intended to permit the parties to complete the Work and all obligations required by the Contract Documents within the Contract Time(s) for the Contract Price. The Contract Documents are intended to be complementary and interpreted in harmony so as to avoid conflict, with words and phrases interpreted in a manner consistent with construction and design industry standards. In the event of any inconsistency, conflict, or ambiguity between or among the Contract Documents, the Contract Documents shall take precedence in the order in which they are listed in Section 2.1 hereof.

It is not intended, however, that materials or work not covered by or properly inferable from any heading, branch, class, or trade of the specifications shall be supplied unless noted on the drawings.

  • SCHOOL STAFF COMMITTEES 1. If the majority of the teaching staff in the school so decide, there shall be established a recognized staff committee in that school.
