Board Support and Assistance - Teachers. While the primary responsibility for the maintenance of discipline under a teacher’s supervision rests with such teacher, the Board recognizes its responsibility to give support and assistance to teachers with respect to the maintenance of control and discipline in the classroom, hallways and at all school-related activities. The Board recognizes that the teacher may not fairly be expected to assume the ongoing responsibility for counseling except as a part of the teacher’s assignment for which they are certified. Whenever it appears that a particular student requires the attention of special teachers, special counselors, social workers, law enforcement personnel, physicians, or other professional persons, the Board will take reasonable steps to assist the teacher with respect to such student.
