Certificated Visiting Teachers/School Social Workers (VT/SSW), who have experience in related fields, shall be given experience credit only in those fields which require a bachelor's degree.
However, because DSHS has a unique situation that requires Psychologist-Forensic Evaluators and Psychiatric Social Workers to work hours over and above those necessary to accomplish their assignment and fulfill their core responsibilities, Psychologists – Forensic Evaluators and Psychiatric Social Workers will receive additional straight time pay at their regular rate of pay for working these “extra duty” hours.
Psychologist – Forensic Evaluators and Psychiatric Social Workers working at the Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) are expected to work as many hours as necessary to accomplish their assignment or fulfill their core responsibilities.
School Social Workers shall be provided by the Central Office with the necessary forms and supplies in sufficient quantity to perform their assigned tasks.
The Board shall seek the input of the training and expertise of the School Social Workers in the planning and implementation of board programs designed to ameliorate some of the factors that impact upon the total school community such as non-attendance to school and the drop out rate, teen pregnancy and preventing child abuse and/or neglect, teen killings and suicide and drug use as well as alternative educational settings.
