Common use of Break in Service Clause in Contracts

Break in Service. 7.12.1 No absence under any paid leave provisions of this article shall be considered as a break in service for any employee who is in paid status and all benefits accruing under the provisions of this agreement shall continue to accrue under such absence. 7.12.2 Approved absences under unpaid leave provisions of this article shall not constitute a break in service, but time absent on unpaid leave status shall not be credited as time worked for the purposes of accruing seniority or longevity if taken pursuant to Sections 7.9, 7.10 or 7.11.
