Bridge to LTD Waiting Period. An Employee who has applied for long-term disability is eligible for additional short- term disability leave days up to the maximum difference between the long-term disability waiting period and 131 days. The additional days shall be payable at 90% and shall be used only to bridge the employee to the long-term disability waiting period if, under a collective agreement in effect on August 31, 2012, the employee was required to wait more than 131 days before being eligible for benefits under a long-term disability plan and the collective agreement did not allow the employee the option of reducing that waiting period. L22.04 Participation in the Group Life Insurance A.D. & D. and Long-Term Disability is a condition of employment. Where employees choose to remain in employment beyond age 65, it is understood that eligibility to participate in the LTD program ends at age 65 in accordance with the Master Policy.
