Common use of CALAMITY DAYS Clause in Contracts

CALAMITY DAYS. ‌ A calamity day shall be defined as an instructional day when the closing of school is deemed necessary as a result of disease, epidemic, hazardous weather conditions, law enforcement emergencies, inoperability of school buses or other equipment needed to operate the school system, damage to a school building or other property, or other temporary circumstance that renders the school facility unfit for instructional use. Teachers will not be required to report to work on days when the district has cancelled classes for students.
