Canadian Currency. All amounts of money stipulated in this Lease are expressed in Canadian currency. Furthermore, unless otherwise indicated in this Lease, the amounts indicated are not to be interpreted to include the goods and services tax (GST), the Québec sales tax (QST) and/or any other tax chargeable on this type of payment during the term of this Lease.
Canadian Currency. All monies payable to or from this plan shall be payable in Canada in Canadian currency. Under certain circumstances, it may be appropriate for an employee who is recovering from an illness or non-work related injury to participate in a rehabilitation program, consisting of either graduated return to work over a specified period of time or the temporary modification to the employee's regular job or temporary placement in an alternate position. In reviewing the feasibility of a rehabilitation program, the Company will take into consideration the following: (a) The nature and expected duration of the employee's disability; (b) The level of activity the employee is capable of performing; (c) The employee's education, training and experience; (d) The nature of the work required in the employee's normal classification; (e) The availability of other positions in the Company which the employee might reasonably be capable of performing; (f) Modification of the employee's job; (g) Flexibility in scheduling hours of work within the existing hours of operation, on a temporary basis. Should such a program be determined to be appropriate by the employee's physician, it will be developed with the co-operation of the insurance carrier, the employee, the employee's physician, and the Company doctor. The Union will be advised of such arrangements. In order for a rehabilitation program to be approved by the Company, acceptable time frames must be established as to when the employee can be expected to return to full employment in their regular job. As well, the Company reserves the right to cancel a program should it feel the objectives are not being fulfilled, or the program is extending beyond a reasonable time period. An employee in receipt of Long-Term Disability benefits who returns to their regular position on a graduated basis shall receive their regular hourly rate for those hours in which they are able to work. In addition, the employee shall receive their Long-Term Disability benefits for those regular scheduled hours in which they were unable to work due to the medical disability based on the provisions of the plan. An employee in receipt of Long-Term Disability benefits who is placed temporarily in another position shall receive the regular hourly rate of the position into which they have been placed for those hours in which they are able to work.
