Common use of Cancellation of Leaves of Absence Clause in Contracts

Cancellation of Leaves of Absence. All leaves of absence shall be subject to the condition that the Police Chief may cancel the leave at any time upon prior written notice to the employee and the Personnel Director specifying a reasonable date for termination of the leave. The Personnel Director, or his designated representative, upon prior notice to the employee and the Police Chief, may cancel an approved leave of absence at any time he finds that the employee is using the leave for purposes other than those specified at the time of approval. In case of emergency, the Police Chief may cancel all leaves by verbal or written communication.
