Common use of Catastrophic Sick Leave Account Clause in Contracts

Catastrophic Sick Leave Account. After an employee has reached the maximum accumulation of sick leave of 1108 hours, any additional sick leave hours accumulated thereafter shall be placed in an individual catastrophic sick leave account (CSLA). Maximum accumulation in the CSLA shall be 1008 hours. Xxxx leave in the CSLA may only be used after an employee has been absent from work because of a serious illness or injury and the employee's regular sick leave account has been exhausted. Sick leave in the CSLA may not be used to supplement salary in the event of a Worker's Compensation injury and may not be converted to its monetary value and used to pay the cost of the hospital and surgical insurance plan upon retirement.
