Common use of Certification Pay Clause in Contracts

Certification Pay. Nurses certified in a specialty area by a national organization and working in that area of certification shall be paid a premium of one dollar ($1.00) per hour, provided the particular certification has been approved by the Nurse Executive for the campus or designee, and further provided that the nurse continues to meet all educational and other requirements to keep the certification current and in good standing. A certified nurse is eligible for only one certification premium, regardless of other certifications the nurse may have. Certified nurses will notify their respective Director/Manager in writing at the time certification is received, providing a copy of the original certification document. Certification pay will be effective the first full pay period after the date documentation is received by the Director/Manager.
