Charge Pay. (a) The Employer shall designate a person to be in charge of a unit. Where such person is absent from the unit for a consecutive time period of two hours or more, an alternate will be designated in charge. (b) When an Employee who holds the position of a Staff Nurse is designated in charge of a unit, such Employee shall be paid an additional $2.00 per hour. (a) When an Employee is assigned to replace another Employee in a higher paid classification for one full Shift or longer, the Employee shall be paid an additional amount equal to the differential between the beginning rate for the Employee’s classification and the beginning rate for the more senior classification in which the Employee is relieving. (b) When an Employee is assigned to replace another person in an out-of-scope position at a more senior level for one full Shift or longer the Employee shall be paid an additional $2.00 per hour. (d) Where, as of July 1, 1999 the person in charge of a unit on a specific shift is a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse, the person designated in charge of that unit and specific shift will continue to be a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse.
(e) The Employer shall provide an appropriate orientation to an Employee prior to assigning the Employee in charge.
