Common use of Civil Service Board Responsibilities Clause in Contracts

Civil Service Board Responsibilities. After receiving a Hearing Officer's recommendation, the Board Secretary shall schedule the case for the next available Civil Service Board meeting. The Board will make every effort to schedule a case within thirty (30) calendar days of receiving the Hearing Officer's recommendation. In reaching a decision, the Board shall review the Hearing Officer's report and the cassette tape of the hearing. The Board's decision shall be made in accordance with Ordinance No. 8979, as amended, which requires a majority of a quorum to accept, reject or modify an appeal. Final determinations will be issued in writing, within ten (10) days of the conclusion of the Civil Service Board review of the Hearing Officer's recommendation. Copies of the Board's determination and the recommendation of the Hearing Officer shall be forwarded to the appellant, appellant's representative, City Attorney's Office and the affected City Department.
