Clinical Nurse Specialist. The salary group for the Clinical Nurse Specialist will be increased to SG 10, and to SG 13 on 5/27/05.

Clinical Nurse Specialist. A nurse assigned to the clinical nurse specialist position is eligible for pay at the rate two additional steps higher than his or her existing rate of pay.
Clinical Nurse Specialist. The CNS role is an advanced practice nurse with clinical expertise for a specialty population. Graduates of this program will be prepared to provide nursing care directly to clients, develop evidence-based standards and programs delivered by nursing personnel, and influence systems that affect healthcare. Each state individually determines the legal scope of practice and criteria for entry- into CNS practice. The Adult-Gerontology CNS program meets the requirements of the California Board of Registered Nursing for state CNS certification. Eligibility to be certified as a CNS in other states, or as a Neonatal or Pediatric CNS in California, requires the successful completion of a national certification examination. The CNS student must complete a minimum of 500 hours in a clinical setting under the supervision of a qualified preceptor and the program faculty.
Clinical Nurse Specialist. 50.1 The CNS classification shall be available to all Registered Nurses whether employed full time or part time who meet the Agreement definition; and meet the criteria as stated in the Appendix A.

Clinical Nurse Specialist is a Registered Nurse with academic preparation at the Master’s level (nursing science). Possessing expertise in a clinical nursing specialty, and who is assigned to a position designated by the Employer as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Clinical Nurse Specialist. (i) A Registered Nurse Division 1 appointed to the grade with either specific post basic qualifications and 12 month’s Experience working in the clinical area of her/his specified post basic qualification, and is responsible for clinical nursing duties, or minimum of four years post registration Experience, including three years’ Experience in the relevant specialist field; or
(ii) A registered Nurse Division 1 who meets the criteria set out at Appendix 2.
(b) Applicants must meet the above definition, be employed either full time or part time and demonstrate the criteria in each of paragraphs 1, 2 and 3 of Appendix 2.
