Technical Cooperation. In order to facilitate the implementation of this Agreement, developed country Members shall provide, on request and on mutually agreed terms and conditions, technical and financial cooperation in favour of developing and least-developed country Members. Such cooperation shall include assistance in the preparation of laws and regulations on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights as well as on the prevention of their abuse, and shall include support regarding the establishment or reinforcement of domestic offices and agencies relevant to these matters, including the training of personnel.
Technical Cooperation. 1. The Parties agree to cooperate and provide technical assistance, to the extent possible, in order to, inter alia: (a) encourage the implementation of this Chapter; (b) encourage the implementation of the TBT Agreement; (c) strengthen the relevant organizations of standardization, technical regulation, and conformity assessment, including their training of the human resources; (d) increase the cooperation between the standardizing, technical regulatory, or conformity assessment bodies in the Parties' territories, including participation and collaboration in international organizations; (e) enhance cooperation in the development and improvement of standards, technical regulations, and conformity assessment procedures; and (f) facilitate the consideration of any sector-specific proposal a Party makes for further cooperation between governmental and non-governmental standardizing or conformity assessment bodies in the Parties' territories.
2. Upon request of a Party that has an interest in developing a similar technical regulation of the other Party, that other Party shall endeavor to provide, to the extent practicable, relevant information, studies, or other documents, except for confidential information, on which it has relied in the development of the technical regulation.
Technical Cooperation. 1. The Parties shall strengthen their cooperation in the field of standards, technical regulations, metrology, market surveillance, accreditation and conformity assessment systems with a view to increasing the mutual understanding of their respective systems and facilitating access to their respective markets. To that end, they may establish regulatory dialogues at both horizontal and sectoral levels.
2. In their cooperation, the Parties shall seek to identify, develop and promote trade facilitating initiatives which may include, but are not limited to:
(a) reinforcing regulatory cooperation through the exchange of data and experience, and through scientific and technical cooperation, with a view to improving the quality of their technical regulations, standards, market surveillance, conformity assessment and accreditation, and making efficient use of regulatory resources;
(b) promoting and encouraging cooperation between their respective organisations, public or private, responsible for metrology, standardisation, market surveillance, conformity assessment and accreditation;
(c) fostering the development of the quality infrastructure for standardisation, metrology, accreditation, conformity assessment and the market surveillance system in Georgia;
(d) promoting the participation of Georgia in the work of related European organisations;
(e) seeking solutions to technical barriers to trade that may arise; and
(f) where appropriate, undertaking efforts to coordinate their positions on matters of mutual interest in international trade and regulatory organisations such as the WTO and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE).
Technical Cooperation. 1. Service suppliers of Members which are in need of such assistance shall have access to the services of contact points referred to in paragraph 2 of Article IV.
2. Technical assistance to developing countries shall be provided at the multilateral level by the Secretariat and shall be decided upon by the Council for Trade in Services.
Technical Cooperation. 1. The Parties agree that it is in their common interest for their competition authorities to work together in technical cooperation activities related to the implementation of competition law and policy.
2. The cooperation activities may include, within the reasonably available resources of the competition authority of each Party, the following:
(a) exchange of personnel of the competition authorities for training purposes;
(b) participation of personnel of the competition authorities as lecturers or consultants at training courses on the implementation of competition law and policy organised or sponsored by either or both competition authorities; and
(c) any other form of technical cooperation as the competition authorities of the Parties may agree.
Technical Cooperation. Each Party shall encourage technical cooperation between its agencies for standardization and metrology, promoting the provision of information and technical assistance, according to available resources and under terms mutually agreed, in order to assist in the attainment of this objective and to enhance the activities, processes, standardization and metrological systems and measures of both Parties.
Technical Cooperation. The Customs Administrations shall cooperate, when necessary and appropriate, in the areas of research, development and test of new customs procedures and enforcement aids and techniques, training activities of customs officers, and exchange of personnel between them.
Technical Cooperation. The Parties agree that it is in their common interest forthe competition authorities of the Parties to work together intechnical cooperation activities related to strengthening ofcompetition policy and implementation of the competition lawof each Party. Paragraph 3 of Article 6 and Chapter 13 shall not apply to this Chapter.
Technical Cooperation. 1. The Parties shall establish a technical cooperation mechanism in order to develop their technical capabilities in specific sectors, with particular attention to smaller economies which are Signatory Parties to this Agreement, and SME's (Small and Medium Enterprises), including: - organization and holding of fairs, exhibitions, conferences, advertising, consultancy and other business services; - development of contacts between business entities, manufacturers associations, xxxxxxxx of commerce and other business associations of both Contracting Parties; - training of technicians.
2. With this aim, the Joint Committee shall, no later than six months after the entry into force of this Agreement, define priority sectors for technical cooperation and request the Parties' respective relevant authorities to identify specific projects and to establish mechanisms for their implementation.
Technical Cooperation. The Parties shall give positive consideration to supply each other cooperation and technical assistance, to the extent possible, in order to, inter alia: (a) encourage the enforcement of this Chapter; (b) encourage the enforcement of the TBT Agreement; (c) strengthen the corresponding bodies of standardization, technical regulation and conformity assessment, including the formation and training of the human resources; and (d) increase the collaboration in international organizations in the areas of standardization and conformity assessment.
