Alternative Position. If an employee requests intermittent leave, or leave on a reduced schedule that is foreseeable based upon planned medical treatment, the College may require that employee to transfer temporarily to an available alternative position offered by the College for which that employee is qualified and that: a. Has equivalent pay and benefits; and b. Better accommodates recurring periods of leave than the regular assignment of the employee.

Alternative Position. PVNA may temporarily transfer nurses taking intermittent leave or on a "reduced leave schedule" for planned medical treatment to an alternative position (equivalent pay and benefits) that better accommodates intermittent leave.
Alternative Position. (a) Where an employee does not receive an Offer of Appointment by Continuance under Clause 13.8, and the employee remains within their current Job Security Period, and: (i) An alternative position is or becomes available in the same session of the same academic year in the same Department; (ii) The alternative position provides the same or similar expected hours of work; (iii) The alternative position has the same classification and level; (iv) The employee is qualified for the alternative position; The Employer intends to fill the alternative position with a student; then the employee shall be offered the alternative position before the position is otherwise filled. (b) Employees who are appointed to an Alternate Position in accordance with subsection (a) above will not lose their Continuance rights over their original position. They will however be responsible to re-apply for the position the next time that it is offered in the session over which the employee has Continuance. The employee must advise the department that this application is a “continuance application”. Such employee will be given preference over other applicants. This clause will not apply to employees who are outside of their Job Security Period. (c) Employees who are appointed to an Alternate Position in accordance with subsection (a) above will not achieve Continuance rights over the new position. They may apply for that position the next time it is posted.
Alternative Position. 17.6.1 Where the employer, on account of redundancy, offers an employee employment at a lower rate of pay, or work that is of a significantly different capacity or character and the employee declines the offer, the termination of employment will be deemed to have been made by the employer and the employee is entitled to the benefits provided by this clause. 17.6.2 Where an employee accepts an alternative position of different character, a one (1) month trial period will be observed to determine the suitability of the new position and the employee will not be denied the provisions of this clause should the position be unsuitable.
Alternative Position. (a) Where the Company has made positions redundant for the reasons set out in clause 24.1, the Company will attempt to place any employee(s) in a position comparable in capacity or character. This is a position which is at the same classification level, which does not entail a change significant enough in capacity or character to be unreasonable in the circumstances of the employee's skills and abilities. (b) Where the Company on account of redundancy, offers an employee a position which is not a comparable position as described above, the following shall apply: (i) Where the employee is offered employment a one-month trial period shall be allowed during which the employee can decline the offer. (c) Where the employee is offered employment at a different location a three (3) month trial period shall be allowed during which the employee can decline the offer. If the employee declines the offer within the trial period, the employee will be retrenched as per this Agreement. Prior to the expiration of the trial period the employee will be consulted with concerning the suitability of the employment with attempts to be made to address any of the employee’s concerns. The Company will contact the employee one week before the trial period expires to determine the acceptance or otherwise of the position. The trial period will continue until the Company has made such contact. At this time the employee can accept the position and will have no entitlement to a retrenchment payment.
Alternative Position. 6.1 Company to attempt to place employee Where the company is considering reducing employment levels at a location for the reasons set out in Clause 1 the company will attempt to place any employee whose employment is likely to be terminated, in an alternative position of a similar nature and of no less skill than the employees current position.
Alternative Position. A position to which an eligible employee may be temporarily reassigned during a period of intermittent Family and Medical (F&M) leave and/or working a reduced schedule. The alternative position shall have equivalent benefits and pay as the position from which the eligible employee was reassigned.

Alternative Position. If an Employee requests intermittent leave or leave on a reduced leave schedule for planned medical treatment, the City Manager may require the Employee to transfer temporarily to an available alternative position for which the Employee is qualified, which has equivalent pay and benefits and which accommodates recurring periods of leave better than the regular position of the Employee. When the Employee no longer needs to continue on intermittent or reduced schedule leave, the Employee must be restored to the same or equivalent job as the job that the Employee left when the leave started.
Alternative Position. Where an Employee’s position is no longer required to be performed and the Company is able to offer an alternative position which the Company believes to be suitable the Company has no obligation to make a redundancy payment.
