Common use of Common Concern and Responsibility Clause in Contracts

Common Concern and Responsibility. The Company and the Union acknowledge their common concern and responsibility for maintaining a safe and healthy working environment to prevent industrial injury and illness. In order to effect a thoroughly understood and accepted Safety and Health Program for employees at work, it is agreed that joint and cooperative methods shall be encouraged. The Company shall continue to make provisions for the health, safety and working environment of the employees. All employees, Plant or Camp Chairs, Co-Chair of the OHSC, appropriate Safety Representatives and /or Crew Safety Representative and representatives of the Union shall have the right to discuss matters dealing with health, safety and environmental conditions. Matters brought forward will be investigated promptly. To this end, Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committees will be established.
