Compensatory Time Off Use of Compensatory Time Off. A. The appointing authority shall determine the period when accrued compensatory time off (CTO) may be taken by each employee consistent with the needs of the department. Employees must be given prior approval, in writing, before compensatory time off will be granted. B. Use of Compensatory Time Off. A. The appointing authority shall determine Department Head determines the period when accrued compensatory time off (CTO) may be taken by each employee consistent with the needs of the department. Employees must be given prior approval, in writing, before compensatory time off CTO will be granted. CTO must be taken in at least one quarter (1/4) hour increments.
B. Denial of an employee's request for use of compensatory time off CTO must be based on business necessity.
