Computation of Seniority After Interrupted Service. In the event an employee with more than one (1) year’s seniority is laid off or transferred to a position within the Company not covered by this Agreement: (a) continuity of service for the purpose of seniority shall be considered unbroken if the employee returns to the status of an employee within one (1) year, or, (b) if the laid-off employee returns to the status of an employee after one (1) year has elapsed, seniority upon return shall be that which the employee had on the effective date of such layoff or transfer.
