Common use of Conditions of Carer’s Leave Clause in Contracts

Conditions of Carer’s Leave. To be entitled to carer’s leave, the following conditions must be met: (a) An employee would normally be responsible for the care and support of the person concerned. (b) An employee will not be entitled to take carer’s leave where another person has taken carer’s leave to care for the same person. (c) Any absence for carer’s leave must be supported by a medical certificate or other satisfactory evidence confirming the requirement for care by another, subject to subclause 39.2.3(d) below. (d) A full-time employee will be entitled to a maximum of 21 hours each year for the purpose of caring for an immediate family member without having to provide a medical certificate or other satisfactory evidence.
