CONTRACT OF HIRING. 4.1.1 The contract of hiring of every employee (other than casual employees) will, in the absence of a written contract to the contrary, be hiring by the fortnight. 4.1.2 Employment will be terminated in accordance with the notice provisions of clauses 4.6 - Termination of employment and 4.7 - Redundancy (severance). Notice may be given at any time provided that the termination of the employment takes effect at the end of a days work or by the payment or forfeiture (as the case may be), of the salaries appropriate to the said notice period. The period of notice in this clause shall not apply in the case of instant dismissal.
