Common use of Conventions and Training Clause in Contracts

Conventions and Training. (a) When an employee attends a professional development course, convention, conference or exhibition for the purpose of learning about new developments or equipment, or to give a presentation, the employee will receive full normal salary, but will be ineligible for extra work or travel hours. Notwithstanding the provisions of this Article, where the Company directs an employee to attend such events, overtime and travel will be paid in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this Article. (b) When an employee is sent by the Company to such convention, conference or exhibition to perform duties such as assembling, operating or acting as an attendant to a Company exhibit, overtime will be paid in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this Article. (c) When an employee is directed by the Company to attend training, overtime and travel will be paid in accordance with the foregoing provisions of this Article.
