Coverage After Retirement. The Board agrees to permit secretary/clerks who have retired from the District under the provisions of the Public Employee's Retirement System and are receiving pension payments thereunder to continue their participation in the health insurance program which is the subject of this Article. In order for a secretary/clerk to be eligible to continue participation in said health insurance program after said secretary/clerk's retirement, said secretary/clerk must have retired after ten (10) or more years of service in the Paramus School District and must, within thirty (30) days of retirement from the District, submit to the Board a request in writing for participating in said health insurance program. Each retired secretary/clerk who participates in said health insurance program shall pay the full cost for his/her participation; such payment to be made by semi-annual installments paid in advance. Eligibility for participation in said health insurance program shall cease immediately upon the attainment by the retired secretary/clerk of eligibility to participate in Medicare or upon said secretary/clerk's death.

Coverage After Retirement. The Board agrees to permit each Secretary, who has retired from the Westfield Public Schools under the provisions of the Public Employees Retirement System and is entitled to receive pension payments thereunder, to continue his/her participation in the insurance programs which are the subject of this article and which are in effect as of the time of the Secretary’s retirement from the Westfield Public Schools. In order for a Secretary to be so eligible to continue participation in said insurance programs after the Secretary’s retirement, the Secretary must have retired after fifteen (15) or more years of service in the Westfield Public Schools and must, within (30) days of retirement from the Westfield Public Schools, submit to the Board a request in writing for continued participation in said insurance programs. Each retired Secretary who participates in the insurance programs which are the subject of this Article shall pay the cost for his/her participation, such payment to be made by semi-annual installments paid in advance. Coverage After Retirement. Any Paraprofessional who has retired (and not merely vested) under PERS after twenty-five (25) or more years of service in the Westfield School District and who is as of such retirement entitled to begin collecting benefits from PERS will be entitled to receive hospitalization and major medical as a retirement benefit. Retired employees receiving this benefit may not continue hospitalization and major medical coverage participation with the Board’s provider.

Coverage After Retirement. (a) When an employee retires from the AUTHORITY, having at least fifteen (15) years of full-time seniority and is qualified to immediately receive pension payments under the New Jersey Public Employees Retirement System ("PERS"), the AUTHORITY shall provide the employee and his/her spouse with all prior health benefits enjoyed as a regular employee, including Dental, Prescription Drug, and Vision Care coverage. Effective October 30, 1993, employees must have at least twenty (20) years of full-time seniority and be qualified to then immediately receive pension payments under PERS before being qualified for coverage as set forth above. Effective August 1, 2007, When an employee retires during the term of this contract from the Authority, having at least twenty (20) years of full time service with the SJTA or a predecessor authority or having twenty-five (25) years or more service credited under the New Jersey Public Employees’ Retirement System (“PERS”) and is qualified to immediately receive pension payments under PERS, the Authority shall provide the employee and his/her spouse and dependants with all prior health benefits enjoyed as a regular employee, including Dental, Prescription Drug, and Vision Care coverage at no cost. All employees as of October 30, 1992, not having the necessary service/age requirements as revised hereunder, are “grandfathered” under the old contract language, during the life of this contract. All Health Benefits, Dental, Prescription Drug and Vision Care coverages shall be provided to retirees, their spouse, and dependants without cost. Such coverage shall be applied to both past retirees and to employees who retire after the effective date of this Agreement.
