Credit for Out-of-District Experience. The Board of Education may accept up to ten (10) years of out of district experience for new employees and shall notify the CSA of any decision to do so. The employee shall be placed on step 10 of the negotiated salary schedule 2008-2009 2010-2011 2020-2021 All salary placements are subject to verification of experience and training both in and out of the state of Oklahoma by the Superintendent of designee. Acceptable documentation shall include but not be limited to W2 forms and letters from former employers stating work history and job responsibility. The employee shall provide all documentation supporting their experience and training. An employee requesting advancement for experience will have 60 days from hire date to provide such documentation. The employee will be placed on step zero of the salary schedule until such time as verification is obtained. If a support employee is hired before January 1st of the current fiscal year they must wait to receive any increment salary increase that may be negotiated that fiscal year until the following fiscal year. 2007-2008 2020-2021

The employee shall be placed on step 5 of the negotiated salary schedule. With respect to the skilled/licensed category, appearing in the support salary schedule, the experience cap is removed and the Board may accept an unlimited number of years of experience for purposes of placement on the salary schedule as long as the salary does not exceed the maximum salary payable for an employee who has reached the top of the schedule. Also, with respect to the custodial / bus driver / secretary categories, appearing in the support salary schedule, the experience cap has been lifted to step 10, the Board may accept 10 years of experience for purposes of placement on the salary schedule as long as the salary does not exceed the maximum salary payable for an employee who has reached the top of the schedule. The skilled category shall include carpentry and painting. The licensed category shall include individuals employed to perform heating and air conditioning maintenance and repair, electrical work, and plumbing. From time to time the District recognizes that former employees may leave and subsequently reapply for employment. In this event, the District may apply credit for experience related to employment with the District in determining the employee's placement on the salary schedule. Accordingly, the Superintendent or his designee may authorize placement on the salary schedule at a level consistent with the employee's placement at the time he or she ceased to be an employee of the District. Additionally, the Superintendent may provide credit consistent with the employee's job- related experience, including any experience secured as an employee of the District.
