Common use of Credited Hours for Maternity or Parental Leave Clause in Contracts

Credited Hours for Maternity or Parental Leave. An employee who takes maternity or parental leave in accordance with the Collective Agreement shall be given credit for increment purposes for the number of hours calculated on the same basis as if the employee had been at work. For employees who work on a part-time basis, such calculation will be based on the average weekly hours paid to the employee in the twenty (20) weeks prior to the commencement of the leave times the number of weeks of maternity or parental leave.
