CURRENT OUTREACH WORK. HEFCE/ESF Summer Schoolfull week residential aimed at 50 year 11 pupils from across the West Midlands, partially funded by HEFCE/ESF, offering participants opportunities to learn from current academics, live in halls, grow in confidence and receive focused advice on how to turn their aspirations into a University education. The University will consider maintaining the Summer School if no external support is available. Subject-specific activities. The University provides on-campus and in-school taster sessions, master classes, workshops and conferences in specific subject areas, designed to raise aspirations and attainment, including Mathematics, Sciences and Modern Foreign Languages. Aiming for a College Education (ACE Days). These aim to introduce pupils to higher education and the different types of courses available, before GCSE options are taken. Through group work, discussions and academic sessions, the course challenges misconceptions and myths pupils may hold about higher education, university and university students. ACE days are among the most popular of the University’s outreach activities and have recently been extended.

CURRENT OUTREACH WORK. 6.3.1 The School liaises with a range of organisations to promote osteopathy to secondary school pupils (11 – 17 year olds) within the local community (Lambeth and Southwark) as well as the Greater London area. The School has participated in a number of outreach activities, including career and education events organised by colleges, universities and academies It has also worked with the company ‘IntoUniversity’ to meet with secondary school pupils from underprivileged backgrounds who have an interest in medicine but may be unaware of the wider variety of options available within the health care arena. Recently, the School has introduced osteopathy to over 5,000 students within the London area by attending a number of careers events. The School roadshows have been a highlight and are designed to disseminate information, promote and support our vast alumni. We offer the local schools an opportunity to discover what osteopathy has to offer and promote it as a career to a variety of age groups particularly in year 9 and year 12/13. Free continuing professional development and topics that affect not only the School but osteopathy as a whole are discussed at the roadshows and focussed on low participation areas in the UK.

  • Unsafe Working Conditions Employees shall be recognized by the Employer to have the competence to determine what constitutes unsafe working conditions within their discipline. No employee shall be disciplined for refusal to work in a situation which is deemed unsafe beyond the reasonable requirements of the employee's job.

  • Summer Work a. This section shall apply only to those employees hired to fill temporary summer positions. b. The District will provide the Association with a list of expected summer work job openings prior to the last day of school. Summer positions shall be included on the District’s website. c. The District shall not fill summer positions with outside employees until bargaining unit members have had at least three (3) working days to submit applications.

  • Unsafe Work Conditions No Employee shall be disciplined for refusal to work on a job which in the opinion of: (a) A member of a safety committee; or (b) A person designated by a safety committee; or (c) A safety officer after an on-site inspection and following discussion with a representative of the Employer, does not meet the standards established pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Act.

  • Outreach Activities a. The Agency shall conduct outreach activities for potential Clients to promote the availability of services. b. Outreach activities shall include, but are not limited to, participation in health fairs, community events, collaboration with other providers, and the posting of flyers for potential Clients. c. The Agency shall have an outreach plan and shall provide evidence of such arrangements to the Recipient upon request.

  • Day Work The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any day (Monday to Saturday inclusive).

  • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • Safe Working Conditions The Employer undertakes to maintain office furniture, equipment, etc., in a practical and safe condition in order to avoid injury to employees or damage to their attire. Employees, for their part and in their own interest, are expected to advise the Employer of any such potentially injurious equipment.

  • DEVELOPMENT OR ASSISTANCE IN DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS/ STATEMENTS OF WORK

  • Project Work PURCHASER shall complete the following projects in accordance with the specifications provided in Exhibits B, C, D, E, and F and written instructions from STATE. Project locations are shown on Exhibit A unless otherwise described. PURCHASER shall furnish all material unless otherwise specified.

  • Procurement of Small Works Works estimated to cost $250,000 equivalent or less per contract, up to an aggregate amount not to exceed $800,000 equivalent, may be procured under lump-sum, fixed-price contracts awarded on the basis of quotations obtained from three (3) qualified domestic contractors in response to a written invitation. The invitation shall include a detailed description of the works, including basic specifications, the required completion date, a basic form of agreement acceptable to the Bank, and relevant drawings, where applicable. The award shall be made to the contractor who offers the lowest price quotation for the required work, and who has the experience and resources to complete the contract successfully.
