Common use of DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING Clause in Contracts

DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING. Effective July 1, 2013 the Day After Thanksgiving, shall be observed by State offices except those operations which must maintain essential services. Subject to the operating needs of any department or agency, leave without loss of pay may be granted on that day and treated as follows: (1) Leave granted shall be considered as time actually worked for the purpose of determining eligibility for overtime compensation; (2) Employees who are required to work that day will receive up to eight (8) hours (on an hour- for-hour basis) compensatory time off in addition to regular pay for that day; (3) Employees who have that day as a regularly scheduled day off and do not work, shall receive up to eight (8) hours (on an hour-for-hour basis) compensatory time off; (4) Part-time employees will receive compensatory time off for this day in direct proportion to the normal number of scheduled work hours in a pay period. (5) The provisions of Sections 7 and 8(c) of this Article shall apply to this holiday.
