Common use of Deductions from Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Deductions from Sick Leave. 9.4.1 A deduction shall be made from the Sick Leave bank for all time absent on account of sick leave as defined in Article 9.1 and Emergency/Family Care Leave as defined in Article 9.6. Leave will be calculated in accordance with Article 9.3. 9.4.2 After the fourth (4th) absence period, the employee will not get paid for the first day of the fifth (5th) absence and the first two (2) days of the sixth (6) and subsequent absences unless, at the discretion of the Corporation, payment is authorized for special circumstances. This procedure will continue for the remainder of the employee's year of service. (Effective January 1, 2019: calendar year)
