Common use of Deductions from Sick Leave Clause in Contracts

Deductions from Sick Leave. (a) A deduction shall be made from accumulated sick leave of all normal working hours (exclusive of holidays) absent for sick leave. (b) Employees are required to make every reasonable effort to arrange medical appointments during non-working hours. Notice of appointment is to be given to the employee’s supervisor at the time the appointment is made, or as soon as reasonably possible. Employees must obtain permission from their immediate supervisor prior to leaving the workplace.
