Definition of Sick Leave. Sick leave shall be defined as the absence of an employee from their regularly assigned duties as a result of the employee’s and/or the employee’s immediate household members’ illness, injury, or disability, and/or the serious illness, injury, or disability of the employee’s mother, father, mother-in-law, or father-in law. Xxxx leave used as a result of an immediate household member’s illness, injury or disability, or the serious illness, injury, or disability of the employee’s mother, father, child, grandchild, mother-in-law, or father-in-law will be limited to seven days. An employee may use up to two (2) days of their sick leave for medically related appointments. Sick leave and worker’s compensation cannot be used at the same time. (Employees undergoing follow-up therapeutic treatment, e.g., chemotherapy, are not limited in their use of sick leave up to their maximum available.) The term household, as used in this Article, shall mean all persons of whatever ages, whether or not related, who habitually reside together in the same household as a group.
