G3.1 The Newday programme will operate across the 4 Welsh regions. It will deliver against ESF priority 2 which set out activities that can be supported to increase employment and tackle worklessness through a mix of employment and skills provision. G3.2 The underpinning principle is to provide added value by filling gaps in existing services and supporting offenders/ex-offenders to access mainstream employment and skills services;
G3.3 Newday will adopt a partnership approach to ensure that activity does not duplicate provision and that value is added to existing provision. Providers will be expected to ensure that work complements rather than competes with other ESF provision.
G3.4 Case Managers in both prisons and probation teams will co-ordinate the various aspects of employment support, ensuring delivery into the mainstream with particular emphasis on through the gate activity and bridging the gap between custody and community. G4 Management Information – Meganexus
G4.1 Meganexus is the name of the company supplying the case management system and that system is currently known as ‘Meganexus’ though may be subject to a name change which will be notified. It must be used for all providers of the project in all cases to maximise the efficient and effective delivery of services for offenders and reduce the overheads associated with delivering quality assured management information appropriate to receiving European funding.
