DENTAL SCREENINGS. As part of the regular school preventive programs, the public health dental hygienist will conduct dental screenings for all kindergarten and fifth graders. Students in other grades will be screened by the dental hygienist on an as needed basis determined by the school nurse. The screenings will be conducted using non-latex gloves, masks, flashlights and tongue depressors. A letter will be sent home to the parent(s) or guardian of each child with findings. Parents/guardians who do not wish to have their child screened must send a written note to the child’s teacher prior to the screening. Each year the school will have a dental van screen grades K-4 by a local dentist. This screening does require parent written permission and will be conducted on the dental van at school.

DENTAL SCREENINGS. As part of the regular school preventive programs, the Colgate Dental Van will conduct mass dental screenings for all students K-5 with signed permission from a parent or guardian. The screenings will be conducted using non-latex gloves, masks, flashlights and tongue depressors. A letter will be sent home to the parent(s) or guardian of each child with findings. Families who do not wish to have their child screened must send a written note to the child’s teacher prior to the screening. In addition, through a partnership with the Alamance County Children’s Dental Health Portable Clinic, students can receive dental services during the school day. Families will be notified of this opportunity by the school nurse.
DENTAL SCREENINGS. All inmates shall be screened by an appropriately trained, mid-level practitioner (MLP) or a person with greater qualifications within seven (7) days of admission to the ODRC. Inmates with Category 1 or 2 dental problems shall be stabilized or palliated by a dentist, physician, or appropriately trained MLP within twenty-four (24) hours.
