Common use of Department Head Clause in Contracts

Department Head. If the grievance is not resolved in Step 1, the employee may pursue the matter by presenting the grievance to the Chief within seven (7) calendar days of the date the reply was received or was due to be received in Step 1. The Chief will meet with the grievant and his/her representative(s) and otherwise attempt to resolve the matter within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of the grievance. The Chief after review and investigation of all matters of fact relative to the grievance shall issue a decision on the grievance form within seven (7) calendar days following the meeting.

Department Head. The Department Head will respond to the grievance in writing within seven (7) calendar working days of receipt of the written grievance. The Chief after review and investigation of all matters of fact relative to the grievance shall issue a decision on the grievance form within seven (7) calendar days following the meeting.
